Caring for your Hecho Lovely wearable art ensures it stays beautiful for years to come.
Brass
Brass naturally develops a warm patina over time — this is part of its character, not a flaw. To clean, gently wipe with a soft dry cloth after wearing. Avoid prolonged contact with water, perfume, lotions, and harsh chemicals. Sealed with Renaissance wax, do not use brass polish — it can break down the finish. To restore shine on bare, unsealed brass only, use a small amount of brass polish on a soft cloth and buff gently.
Niobium Ear Wires
Niobium is hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive ears. Because it is naturally softer than brass, handle with care — avoid bending or pulling. Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners.
Sealed & Natural Materials
Pieces featuring flower petals, wood, fabric, stone, glass, or hand-painted acrylic are sealed with resin, satin seal, polyurethane, Renaissance wax, or water-based finishes. Keep away from water, humidity, and direct sunlight for extended periods. Do not submerge. For resin or satin seal-finished pieces, a cloth dampened with a little water and a drop of mild soap can be used to gently wipe the surface — including any makeup or product that gets on it — always follow with a clean dry cloth. For all other finishes, use a dry cloth only — no cleaning solutions, including jewelry cleaners. Avoid scratching painted surfaces, as acrylic paint can chip if handled roughly. Note: pieces finished with Renaissance wax or water-based finishes are more delicate — handle and store with extra care.
General Care
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
- Keep pieces separate to avoid scratching
- Remove before swimming, bathing, or exercising
- Put jewelry on last — after perfume, lotion, and hairspray
